These photos document atmosphere: the rain, diffusing glass, and particulates in the air give us a view of the world which is less visually clear, but one which offers more room for that enmeshing of subject and object which is critical to phenomenological investigation. No camera tricks are necessary in these environments to create images which are semi-distinct, and which detach somewhat from the "real" to reattach subtly in our minds.
